Russell Holmes (volleyball)

Russell Holmes (born July 1, 1982) is an American volleyball player. He is a middle blocker who has represented the United States national team in numerous international competitions, including the Olympic Games and the FIVB World League.

Holmes played college volleyball at Brigham Young University (BYU), where he was a standout player. Following his collegiate career, he began playing professionally in Europe, competing in leagues in countries such as Poland, Russia, and Turkey.

He was a member of the U.S. Men's National Volleyball Team that competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, and he also participated in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, winning a bronze medal. Throughout his career, Holmes has been recognized for his blocking ability, offensive skills, and overall contributions to the teams he has played for. He is considered one of the top American middle blockers of his generation.
