SS Malda (1913)

The SS Malda was a passenger steamship built in 1913 by Barclay Curle and Company of Glasgow, Scotland, for the British India Steam Navigation Company. She served primarily on routes between the United Kingdom and India, carrying passengers, mail, and cargo. During World War I, she was requisitioned for service as a troop transport and hospital ship. After the war, she returned to commercial service with British India. Malda continued to operate until World War II, when she was again requisitioned. Her eventual fate is not uniformly documented, but records suggest she likely served until being scrapped after the war's end.
