Michael Roberts (mathematician)

Michael Roberts (1817 – 1882) was an Irish mathematician known for his work in geometry and analysis. He was a professor of mathematics at Trinity College Dublin. His research focused on topics such as algebraic curves, differential equations, and the theory of determinants. Roberts made significant contributions to the study of confocal conics and related geometrical properties. He published extensively in mathematical journals of the time and was a respected figure in the mathematical community. His brother, Samuel Roberts, was also a prominent mathematician.
