Best Of – Volume I (Van Halen album)

Best Of – Volume I is a compilation album by the American hard rock band Van Halen, released on October 22, 1996. It features songs from their albums released between 1978 and 1984, during the David Lee Roth era, as well as tracks from the Sammy Hagar fronted era (1986 - 1995). The album also included two newly recorded songs with Roth: "Me Wise Magic" and "Can't Get This Stuff No More," marking Roth's return to the band for a brief period.

The album was released as a single disc and a limited edition double disc set. The double disc version featured a bonus live disc recorded at the Selland Arena in Fresno, California in 1986.

Best Of – Volume I achieved significant commercial success, reaching platinum status in the United States, and helped to revitalize interest in Van Halen's extensive catalog. It served as a retrospective of the band's most popular material and highlighted the distinct eras with Roth and Hagar as lead vocalists.
