Uktzim

Uktzim (Hebrew: עוקצים, meaning "Sting" or "Prickles") is the name of the sixth tractate of the Order Tohorot ("Purities") in the Mishnah and Talmud. It deals primarily with the laws concerning the ritual impurity of different parts of plants. It focuses on how small amounts of different fruits or plants can combine to become ritually impure, even if individually they are not. Uktzim is considered the most difficult tractate within Order Tohorot due to its complex scenarios involving various combinations and quantities of plant materials and their relationship to ritual purity. The tractate explores situations where the "stinging" or "prickly" parts (like stems or peels) of plants can transmit impurity. It is divided into three chapters.
