Canlubang

Canlubang is a large barangay in the city of Calamba, Laguna, Philippines. Historically a vast sugar estate, it has since transformed into a major industrial and residential area.

History:

Canlubang's history is intrinsically linked to the Yulo family, who developed the area into a thriving sugar plantation in the early 20th century. The sugar estate, known as Canlubang Sugar Estate (CSE), was a significant economic force in the region, providing employment and contributing to the overall growth of Calamba. After agrarian reform initiatives and subsequent changes in ownership and development strategies, much of the agricultural land was converted into industrial parks, residential subdivisions, and commercial areas.

Several industrial parks are located within its boundaries, hosting manufacturing plants, logistics companies, and other businesses. Numerous residential subdivisions cater to a diverse population, contributing to the local economy through consumer spending. Commercial establishments, including shopping centers, restaurants, and service providers, are also prevalent.

Infrastructure:

Canlubang possesses well-developed infrastructure, including roads, power supply, water systems, and telecommunications networks. Its proximity to the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) facilitates transportation and logistics. Several schools, hospitals, and other essential facilities are located within the barangay.
