Glasperlenspiel (duo)

Glasperlenspiel is a German electropop duo formed in Stockach, Baden-Württemberg in 2010. The group consists of singer Carolin Niemczyk and keyboardist/programmer Daniel Grunenberg.

Initially, both Niemczyk and Grunenberg were involved in other musical projects before forming Glasperlenspiel. Their name, meaning "Glass Bead Game" in German, is taken from Hermann Hesse's novel of the same name.

Glasperlenspiel rose to prominence with their debut single "Echt" in 2011, which achieved significant commercial success in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The song showcased their signature blend of electronic beats, catchy melodies, and introspective lyrics.

Their debut album, Beweg dich mit mir, released in 2011, solidified their position in the German music scene. The album explored themes of love, loss, and personal growth, further establishing their connection with their audience.

Glasperlenspiel has released several subsequent albums, including Grenzenlos (2013), Tag X (2015), Licht & Schatten (2018), and Herzüberkopf (2024). Each album has seen the duo evolve their sound while maintaining their characteristic style. They have consistently charted in the top tiers of German album charts.

They are known for their energetic live performances and have toured extensively throughout Germany and other German-speaking countries. Their music has been featured in numerous television commercials and soundtracks, contributing to their widespread recognition.
