Herb Welch (baseball)
Herbert “Herb” Welch (born August 28, 1900, died October 29, 1968) was an American professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies from 1924 to 1925.
Welch's career was brief, spanning only two seasons. During his time with the Phillies, he primarily served as a relief pitcher, though he did make a few starts. His overall MLB record was 0 wins and 2 losses, with an earned run average (ERA) of 5.27 in 27 appearances.
Prior to reaching the major leagues, Welch played in the minor leagues. After his MLB career concluded, he continued to play minor league baseball for several years.
