Leslie Alexander (businessman)
Leslie L. Alexander is an American businessman, investor, and philanthropist best known as the former owner of the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He acquired the team in 1993 for $85 million and sold it to Tilman Fertitta in 2017 for $2.2 billion.
During his tenure as owner, the Rockets won two NBA championships in 1994 and 1995, led by star players Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, and others. Alexander oversaw significant changes and improvements to the Rockets organization, including expansions to the Toyota Center, their home arena, and consistently ranked among the league's most valuable franchises.
Beyond his involvement with the Houston Rockets, Alexander has been an active philanthropist.
