Shuaibu Ibrahim (Army)
Shuaibu Ibrahim (Army) is a retired Nigerian Army Brigadier General. He is most notably known for serving as the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Nigeria from 2019 to 2023.
During his tenure as NYSC Director-General, Ibrahim oversaw the mobilization, deployment, and welfare of young Nigerian graduates participating in the one-year mandatory national service. His administration focused on improving the scheme's relevance to national development and promoting entrepreneurship among corps members. He also advocated for increased funding and infrastructural development within the NYSC.
Prior to his appointment as Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Ibrahim held various command and staff positions within the Nigerian Army. His military career spanned several years, encompassing training, operations, and administrative roles. He holds a PhD in War Studies from King's College London.
He retired from the Nigerian Army following the completion of his tenure as NYSC Director-General.
