Yuan Fu
Yuan Fu (元符) was a Chinese era name used by Emperor Zhezong of the Song dynasty. It spanned the period from 1098 to 1100 CE.
During the Yuan Fu era, the political struggles between conservative factions and those advocating for reform continued to shape the Song court. The era saw a fluctuating balance of power between these groups, impacting policies related to land reform, finance, and military affairs. While some attempts were made to continue the reforms initiated during the earlier Yuanfeng era, they faced significant opposition and were often rolled back or modified. The influence of Empress Dowager Gao, who opposed many of the reforms, waned, but the underlying tensions remained. The era concluded with the death of Emperor Zhezong in 1100, ushering in a new political landscape.
