Salvatorians

The Salvatorians, officially known as the Society of the Divine Savior (Societas Divini Salvatoris, SDS), are a Roman Catholic religious congregation of priests and brothers founded in Rome, Italy, on December 8, 1881, by Father Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan. The congregation's mission is to proclaim the Gospel to all people by all means, especially to those who do not know Jesus Christ or who have strayed from their faith.

The Society operates in a variety of ministries around the world, including parishes, schools, missions, retreat centers, and social justice initiatives. Salvatorians are known for their dedication to education, pastoral care, and work among the poor and marginalized. They often emphasize collaboration with laypeople and other religious organizations in their ministry efforts.

The congregation's charism emphasizes the universality of salvation and the importance of adapting to the needs of the time and place in order to effectively spread the Gospel message. Their motto is "To make Jesus known and loved everywhere, by all possible means."

The Salvatorian family also includes the Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Savior and the Lay Salvatorian Movement, forming a larger network committed to the Salvatorian mission.
