Dammbach (Rappbode)
Dammbach is a district (Ortsteil) of the municipality of Oberharz am Brocken in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is located near the Rappbode Dam, one of the largest dams in Germany. The Rappbode Dam impounds the Rappbode River, and Dammbach benefits from the tourism associated with the dam and the surrounding Harz mountains. Historically, the area was part of the county of Wernigerode. Dammbach offers hiking trails and access to recreational activities related to the Rappbode Reservoir, including boating and fishing. The name "Dammbach" suggests a stream ("Bach") near a dam ("Damm").
