Babylone (band)
Babylone is an Algerian alternative rock band formed in 2012 in Algiers. The band's music blends elements of rock, reggae, and Gnawa, a traditional Algerian spiritual music. They sing primarily in Algerian Arabic, but also sometimes incorporate French.
The band gained significant popularity in Algeria and the wider Arab world with the release of their debut single, "Zina," in 2013. "Zina" became a viral hit due to its catchy melody and heartfelt lyrics about lost love. Following the success of their debut, Babylone released their first album, "Brya," which further solidified their position as a prominent act in the Algerian music scene.
Babylone's music often addresses themes of love, loss, societal issues, and the challenges facing young people in Algeria. Their concerts are known for their energetic performances and strong connection with the audience.
