Kiosk (band)
Kiosk is an Iranian rock band formed in Tehran in 2003, later based in Toronto. The band is known for its satirical lyrics, which address social and political issues in Iran. Their music blends elements of rock, blues, and Iranian folk music.
History
Kiosk was founded by Arash Sobhani, who serves as the band's vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter. Initially formed in Tehran, the band faced challenges in performing and recording due to censorship and restrictions on artistic expression. In 2005, Sobhani immigrated to Canada and re-established Kiosk in Toronto.
Music and Style
Kiosk's music is characterized by its socially conscious lyrics, often using humor and irony to comment on topics such as government corruption, social inequality, and cultural identity.
