Modinagar

Modinagar is a city and a municipal board in Ghaziabad district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is part of the Delhi NCR (National Capital Region).

History:

Modinagar was founded by Rai Bahadur Seth Gujarmal Modi in 1933. The town's name is derived from "Modi," his surname, and "Nagar," meaning town. He established the Modi Group of industries there, which played a significant role in the town's development and economy.

Geography:

Modinagar is located in western Uttar Pradesh, close to the border with Delhi. It is situated on the Delhi-Meerut road (National Highway 34). Its geographical coordinates are approximately 28.83°N 77.57°E. The area is generally flat and part of the fertile Indo-Gangetic plain.
