Gavi (footballer)

Pablo Martín Páez Gavira (born 5 August 2004), known as Gavi, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for La Liga club Barcelona and the Spain national team.

Early Life and Career:

Gavi was born in Los Palacios y Villafranca, Seville, Andalusia. He began his youth career at La Liara Balompié before joining the youth academy of Real Betis. In 2015, at the age of 11, he signed for Barcelona's La Masia academy.

Club Career:

• Barcelona: Gavi progressed through the youth ranks at Barcelona and made his senior debut for Barcelona B in 2021. He quickly impressed and was soon promoted to the first team. He made his first-team debut in August 2021 against Getafe. He became a regular starter for Barcelona, showcasing his technical ability, passing range, and energetic performances. Gavi has established himself as a key player in Barcelona's midfield.

International Career:

Gavi has represented Spain at various youth levels. He made his senior debut for the Spain national team in October 2021, becoming the youngest player to ever represent Spain at senior level, breaking the previous record held by Ángel Zubieta. He played a role in Spain's UEFA Nations League campaign and has been included in major tournament squads.
