Amaury García (baseball)

Amaury García (born September 22, 1982) is a Cuban-born former professional baseball pitcher. He pitched in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals (2004-2006) and the Kansas City Royals (2007).

García defected from Cuba in 2003. He was signed by the Montreal Expos in 2004 and quickly made his major league debut that same year. Known for a fastball that reached the mid-90s, his career was hampered by injuries and inconsistency. He primarily served as a relief pitcher and spot starter.

Following his time in the majors, García played in the minor leagues with various organizations, including the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Chicago White Sox, attempting to return to the big leagues. He also played in independent leagues.
