Jack Haley (basketball)
Jack Haley (January 27, 1964 – March 16, 2015) was an American professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for nine seasons.
Haley was born in Long Beach, California. He played college basketball at UCLA, where he was a teammate of Reggie Miller. He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the fourth round of the 1987 NBA draft.
A 6'10" power forward/center, Haley played for the Chicago Bulls (1987-1989), New Jersey Nets (1989-1992), Los Angeles Lakers (1992-1993), Phoenix Suns (1993-1994), and San Antonio Spurs (1995-1996, 1998-1999). He was a member of the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls team that won an NBA championship, playing alongside Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman. He was known for his role as a friend and confidant of Rodman during Rodman's time with the Bulls.
After his playing career, Haley worked as a television and radio analyst for the Lakers, as well as a personal coach. He also had a brief stint as an assistant coach for the New Jersey Nets.
Haley died in 2015 at the age of 51 from heart disease.
