Tony Reno (American football)

Tony Reno (born c. 1975) is an American college football coach. He is currently the Joel E. Smilow '54 Head Coach of Football at Yale University, a position he has held since the 2012 season.

Reno's coaching career began at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) as a graduate assistant. He subsequently coached at King's College (PA), Mansfield University, and Western New England College. He first arrived at Yale in 2003 as the defensive backs coach. From 2009 to 2011, he served as the defensive coordinator for Harvard University.

Reno returned to Yale as head coach after Tom Williams resigned in 2011. Under Reno's leadership, Yale has achieved success, including Ivy League championships in 2017 and 2023. He has also focused on recruiting and player development. His tenure has been marked by a commitment to the academic and athletic success of his players.
