Impulse (TV series)
Impulse is an American science fiction drama streaming television series based on the third novel in the Jumper series by Steven Gould, Impulse. Created by Lauren LeFranc, the series premiered on June 6, 2018, on YouTube Premium.
The series follows Henrietta "Henry" Coles, a 16-year-old girl who feels alienated and different from her peers. She lives in the small town of Reston, New York, with her mother, Cleo. Henry discovers she has the ability to "teleport," or "jump," to locations she hasn't seen before, often triggered by emotional distress or physical threat. These jumps are often uncontrolled and can have unpredictable consequences.
The series explores themes of trauma, identity, and the responsibility that comes with extraordinary power. As Henry learns to control her abilities, she becomes a target for those who want to exploit her power and uncovers secrets about her family's past.
The main cast includes Maddie Hasson as Henrietta "Henry" Coles, Missi Pyle as Cleo Coles, Sarah Desjardins as Jenna Hope, Enuka Okuma as Deputy Anna Hulce, Craig Arnold as Lucas Boone, and Tanner Stine as Clay Boone.
The series ran for two seasons, with the second season premiering on October 16, 2019. In March 2020, YouTube announced that Impulse would not be renewed for a third season. Both seasons are now available on other streaming platforms.
