Bob Wilson (politician)

Bob Wilson (born April 5, 1916, died August 11, 1999) was an American politician who served as a U.S. Representative from California's 41st (later 40th) congressional district from 1953 to 1981. A Republican, Wilson was known for his strong advocacy for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, reflecting the significant military presence in his San Diego-based district.

Wilson was born in Calexico, California, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His military service heavily influenced his political career and shaped his focus in Congress.
