Thomas Bellamy (politician)

Thomas Bellamy was a British Labour Party politician. He served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Ashton-under-Lyne from 1945 to 1949, and again from 1951 to 1964.

Bellamy was born in 1905 and worked as a railwayman before entering Parliament. He was active in local politics prior to his election. During his time in Parliament, he was known for his advocacy on behalf of working-class constituents and for his contributions to debates on industrial relations and transport.

He lost his seat in the 1949 general election but regained it in the 1951 election. He remained the MP for Ashton-under-Lyne until he retired at the 1964 general election. Thomas Bellamy died in 1975.
