Central Highlands (Madagascar)

The Central Highlands of Madagascar, also known as the Hauts-Plateaux, comprise a mountainous plateau region that dominates the central part of the island. This region is characterized by rolling hills, deep valleys, and scattered rocky outcrops. Geographically, the Central Highlands are largely composed of Precambrian crystalline rocks and volcanic formations, resulting in fertile soils suitable for agriculture.

The region is also home to various lakes and rivers that are important for water resources and biodiversity.
