Tom Jager

Tom Jager (born October 6, 1964) is an American former competitive swimmer and Olympic gold medalist. He specialized in sprint freestyle events and is widely regarded as one of the fastest swimmers in history.

Jager represented the United States at the 1984, 1988, and 1992 Summer Olympics. He won a total of seven Olympic medals: five gold and two silver. His gold medals came in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay (1984, 1988, 1992), 50-meter freestyle (1988), and 4x100-meter medley relay (1988, 1992). His silver medals were in the 50-meter freestyle (1992) and 100-meter freestyle (1988).

Throughout his career, Jager set numerous world records in the 50-meter freestyle and 4x100-meter freestyle relay. He was known for his explosive starts and powerful technique. He retired from competitive swimming after the 1992 Olympics.

After retiring, Jager pursued coaching and has worked with various swimming programs. He has also been involved in motivational speaking and business ventures. He is considered a significant figure in the history of American swimming.
