Dolly (1976 TV series)

Dolly was a syndicated American musical variety show starring Dolly Parton that aired from 1976 to 1977. The half-hour program featured Parton performing both her own hits and covers of other artists' songs. A variety of guest stars appeared on the show, including Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, and Linda Ronstadt. The show was produced by Show Biz, Inc. and was distributed by Metromedia Producers Corporation. Although it only ran for one season, Dolly helped to further solidify Parton's crossover appeal and establish her as a major television personality. The show's cancellation has been attributed to Parton's touring schedule and her desire to focus on her music career.
