Fox Sports (Uruguayan TV channel)

Fox Sports (Uruguayan TV channel) is a defunct pay television sports channel that was available in Uruguay. It was part of the larger Fox Sports network, a group of regional sports channels broadcasting throughout Latin America.

The channel primarily broadcast a variety of sports, including football (both Uruguayan and international leagues), basketball, tennis, motorsports, and other popular sports. It often featured live coverage of sporting events, as well as pre- and post-game analysis, sports news programs, and magazine shows.

The Uruguayan feed of Fox Sports typically tailored its programming to include content of specific interest to Uruguayan viewers, such as coverage of the Uruguayan Primera División and the performance of Uruguayan athletes in international competitions.

Following the acquisition of 21st Century Fox by The Walt Disney Company in 2019, regulatory restrictions regarding market dominance led to the divestiture of the Fox Sports channels in Latin America. The Uruguayan feed, along with the other Latin American channels, was ultimately sold to Grupo Mediapro. The channel was subsequently rebranded, ceasing to operate under the Fox Sports name. The new channel's programming lineup was largely maintained, but with a new on-air presentation and branding.
