Carlo Rim
Carlo Rim (born Jean Marius Philip Richard; 19 March 1902 – 23 August 1989) was a French screenwriter, journalist, writer, playwright, and film director. He was known for his wit, satirical style, and involvement in French cinema and literature.
Rim began his career as a journalist and writer, contributing to various newspapers and magazines. He gained recognition for his screenwriting work, often collaborating with renowned French filmmakers. Some of his notable screenwriting credits include films such as Je suis un sentimental (1955) and Fernand clochard (1957).
In addition to screenwriting, Rim also wrote plays and novels, exploring themes of social commentary and human nature with a comedic edge. His writing often reflected his observations of French society and culture.
Rim was a member of the Académie Goncourt from 1976 until his death. His work contributed significantly to the landscape of French cinema and literature during the mid-20th century.
