Magghar (month)
Magghar is the ninth month in the Nanakshahi calendar, a solar calendar used by Sikhs. It corresponds to November/December in the Gregorian calendar. Magghar consists of 30 days. The start date of Magghar varies slightly each year depending on the solar cycle. Agriculturally, Magghar marks a transition period, often associated with the end of the monsoon season and the beginning of the winter months in the Punjab region. Spiritually, it is a time recognized within Sikh tradition, with specific Gurbani verses and historical significance attached to it.
