Cars 2

Cars 2 is a 2011 American computer-animated spy action-adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is a sequel to the 2006 film Cars, and the second film in the Cars franchise. Directed by John Lasseter and co-directed by Brad Lewis, the film features the voices of Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Michael Caine, Emily Mortimer, and Eddie Izzard.

The film centers around Lightning McQueen and Mater as they travel to Japan and Europe to compete in the first annual World Grand Prix, a race created to determine the world's fastest car. However, Mater becomes embroiled in a case of international espionage when he inadvertently gets caught up in the plans of a group of "lemons" (undesirable cars) led by Professor Zündapp, who aim to sabotage the race. As Mater gets increasingly entangled in the spy world, he teams up with British spies Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell to uncover and stop the lemons' plot.

Cars 2 received mixed to negative reviews from critics, who criticized the focus on Mater, the convoluted plot, and the lack of heart compared to the original Cars. It was a box office success, grossing over $562 million worldwide, but is considered one of Pixar's weakest films.
