Legacy (American TV series)

Legacy is an American Western drama television series that aired on UPN from 1998 to 1999. Set in Kentucky in 1879, the series follows the Logan family, headed by Ned Logan (Brett Cullen), a widower with five children.

The show centered around the challenges faced by the Logans as they attempted to build a horse-breeding ranch and raise their family in the late 19th century. Storylines often revolved around family dynamics, romantic entanglements, conflicts with neighboring landowners, and the struggles of frontier life.

The cast included Lea Thompson as Rachel Simms, a doctor who becomes involved with the Logan family, and Jeremy Renner as Henry, Ned's oldest son. The other Logan children were played by Sean Murray, Lindsay Crouse, and Steven Vidler.

Legacy was known for its focus on family values and its attempts to realistically portray the hardships and rewards of life on the American frontier. Despite its attempts to create a compelling narrative, the series was cancelled after one season due to low ratings.

The series was created by David Simkins. Its relatively short run has made it a somewhat obscure entry in the landscape of Western television, though it maintains a small following of fans who appreciate its historical setting and family-oriented themes.
