VAQ-35
VAQ-35 was a U.S. Navy Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron. It was commissioned on September 4, 1981, at Naval Air Station (NAS) Alameda, California. The squadron's primary mission was to provide electronic warfare support to U.S. Navy and Marine Corps forces. This support included electronic countermeasures (ECM), electronic surveillance, and electronic attack.
VAQ-35 initially operated the EA-6A Electric Intruder aircraft. Later, the squadron transitioned to the EA-6B Prowler. They deployed aboard aircraft carriers and to various land-based locations worldwide, participating in numerous operations and exercises. The squadron was disestablished on September 30, 1993, as part of post-Cold War force reductions. The squadron’s callsign was "Black Ravens."
