It features a mix of vocal tracks, instrumental dub versions, and DJ versions, highlighting the breadth and depth of Perry's creative output during this pivotal period.
Arkology includes tracks by Perry himself, as well as artists he produced at the Black Ark, such as Junior Murvin, The Congos, and Max Romeo. Many of the tracks are considered seminal works in the development of dub music. The album is noted for its atmospheric and often surreal soundscapes, reflecting the unique and sometimes chaotic environment of the Black Ark studio.
