Malajube

Malajube is an indie rock band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. They are known for their French-language lyrics, energetic live performances, and a blend of musical styles including pop, rock, and experimental elements.

Formed in 2004, the band consists of Julien Mineau (vocals, guitar), Mathieu Cournoyer (guitar), Francis Mineau (drums), and Pierre-Paul Hussain (bass).

Malajube gained significant recognition with the release of their second album, Trompe-l'oeil, in 2006. The album was critically acclaimed and helped to establish them as a prominent band in the Quebec music scene and beyond. Their subsequent albums, including Labyrinthes (2009) and La Caverne (2011), further solidified their reputation.

Their music often incorporates unconventional song structures and arrangements. Lyrically, they explore themes of everyday life, relationships, and observations about the world around them, often with a touch of surrealism.

Malajube has toured extensively in Canada, the United States, and Europe, performing at various festivals and venues. They are considered an influential band in the Quebec indie rock landscape and have inspired many other artists.
