The Tycoon (TV series)
The Tycoon was an American sitcom that aired on ABC from 1964 to 1965. It starred Walter Brennan as Walter Andrews, a wealthy and eccentric self-made millionaire who made his fortune in oil. He lived in a lavish penthouse apartment in New York City with his Irish manservant, Denver, played by Van Williams.
The show centered around Andrews' business dealings and his personal life, often showcasing his unconventional methods and his warm, if sometimes gruff, personality. Much of the humor stemmed from the contrast between Andrews' immense wealth and his down-to-earth nature, as well as the comedic interplay between Andrews and Denver.
Despite featuring a seasoned actor in Walter Brennan, The Tycoon was not a ratings success and was canceled after a single season of 32 episodes. It has not seen significant revival or syndication since its original broadcast.
