Tet 1969

The year 1969 marked the second iteration of the Tet Offensive, a series of surprise attacks by the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese forces during the Tet holiday (Vietnamese Lunar New Year) in the Vietnam War. While the larger and more impactful Tet Offensive occurred in 1968, attacks also occurred in 1969, though they were generally smaller in scale and intensity. The term "Tet 1969" refers specifically to these military operations conducted by communist forces during the Tet holiday period of that year. These attacks, like those in 1968, aimed to destabilize the South Vietnamese government and encourage popular uprising, though they ultimately failed to achieve these objectives.
