John Cason (actor)
John Cason (born January 30, 1918, Kennett, Missouri – died February 15, 1999, Thousand Oaks, California) was an American actor, primarily known for his work in Westerns and television.
Cason's career spanned several decades, beginning in the late 1940s. He frequently appeared in supporting roles, often portraying villains, henchmen, and tough characters. His imposing physique and distinctive face made him a recognizable figure in the Western genre.
Some of his notable film credits include roles in The Dalton Gang (1949), The Savage Horde (1950), Kansas Raiders (1950), Red River (1948) (uncredited), and Rio Bravo (1959) (uncredited).
Cason also worked extensively in television, making appearances in numerous popular Western series such as The Lone Ranger, The Adventures of Kit Carson, The Gene Autry Show, The Cisco Kid, The Roy Rogers Show, The Range Rider, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Rawhide, The Rifleman, Have Gun - Will Travel, and The Virginian. He also appeared in other television genres, including crime dramas and adventure series.
His later television work included appearances in The Wild Wild West and The High Chaparral.
