Ted Hsu

Ted Hsu is a Canadian politician and physicist. He served as the Member of Parliament for Kingston and the Islands from 2011 to 2015, representing the Liberal Party of Canada.

Prior to entering politics, Hsu worked as a physicist and technology executive. He holds a Ph.D. in physics from Princeton University. His research focused on quantum computing.

During his time in Parliament, Hsu served on several committees, including the Standing Committee on Finance and the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology. He was particularly involved in discussions related to innovation, technology policy, and economic development.

Following his defeat in the 2015 federal election, Hsu remained active in public life. He served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the City of Kingston from 2016 to 2019. He also taught at Queen's University.

In 2022, Hsu was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as the Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Kingston and the Islands, representing the Ontario Liberal Party. He currently serves as the Ontario Liberal Party's critic for several portfolios.
