Samariterstraße (Berlin U-Bahn)

Samariterstraße is a station on the U5 line of the Berlin U-Bahn. It is located under Frankfurter Allee in the Friedrichshain district of Berlin.

The station opened on December 21, 1930, as part of the eastern extension of what was then known as line E. It was originally named Memeler Straße. After World War II, the street and the station were renamed Samariterstraße, after the Good Samaritan, reflecting a renewed focus on social responsibility and rebuilding in the aftermath of the war.

The station features a central platform and is known for its relatively simple architectural design, typical of stations built during that period. The walls are tiled and the station signage is in the standard Berlin U-Bahn style.

Samariterstraße station provides access to the surrounding residential and commercial areas, including shops, restaurants, and the Samariterkirche (Samaritan Church), a landmark located near the station's namesake street. It is an important transportation hub for the local community, providing connections to other parts of Berlin via the U-Bahn network.
