Keisuke Yoshida (director)

Keisuke Yoshida (吉田 恵輔, Yoshida Keisuke, born 1975) is a Japanese film director and screenwriter. He is known for his character-driven dramas, often exploring complex relationships and the darker aspects of human nature.

Yoshida gained recognition early in his career, with his debut film Raw Summer (生 RAW, Nama Raw) in 2005. He has since directed a number of critically acclaimed films, including The Silver Spoon (銀の匙, Gin no Saji, 2011), Blue Hearts (ブルーハーツが聴こえる, Burū Hātsu ga Kikoeru, 2017) - part of an omnibus film, and Intolerance (空白, Kūhaku, 2021). His films are characterized by a realistic and often unflinching portrayal of everyday life, tackling difficult themes with sensitivity and nuance. Yoshida's work has been screened at numerous international film festivals.
