Olympiastadion (Berlin)
The Olympiastadion (Berlin) is a sports stadium in Berlin, Germany. Originally built for the 1936 Summer Olympics, it is located in the Olympiapark Berlin. The stadium has a capacity of 74,475 and is the home stadium of Hertha BSC.
The stadium's construction was ordered by Adolf Hitler and was designed by architect Werner March. It was intended to be a symbol of Nazi Germany's power and grandeur. The stadium complex includes a variety of facilities, including the Waldbühne amphitheater.
Following World War II, the stadium was used by Allied forces. It has undergone several renovations since then, most recently in preparation for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The Olympiastadion hosted several matches during the World Cup, including the final.
