Scrawl (film)
Scrawl is a 2015 independent British supernatural horror-thriller film written and directed by Peter Hearn. The film was produced by Annabelle Le Gresley and Peter Hearn.
Plot
The story follows Simon Goodman (Liam Hughes), a 16-year-old boy living in a rundown seaside town. With his best friend Joe Harper (Joe Daly), they create a comic book called "SCRAWL" as a way to escape their reality, gain some notoriety, and pick up girls. However, their lives take a dark turn when the situations depicted in their comic book mysteriously begin to come to life. With the unexpected appearance of a mysterious woman (Daisy Ridley), Simon is forced to face the reality of what he has written and must rewrite the ending before it's too late.

Production and Release
The film was shot before Daisy Ridley rose to international fame in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." It was featured at the Andover Arts Festival in June 2015 before being submitted to film festivals. Despite being completed in 2015, the film had a delayed release, with Wild Eye Releasing eventually distributing it years later.
Reception
The film has received mixed reviews, with a 3.0/10 rating on IMDb. Critics have described it as having moments of decent horror and blood splatter, but some reviewers found the plot difficult to follow. The film has gained some cult status primarily due to Daisy Ridley's involvement before her mainstream success.
