Bedmond
Bedmond is a village and civil parish in Hertfordshire, England. It is located approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) south-west of St Albans and is part of the Three Rivers district. Historically, Bedmond was part of the parish of Abbots Langley.
The village is largely rural, surrounded by farmland and woodland. Notable features include the Church of St Botolph, a 13th-century building, and the remains of Cell Barnes Lane Asylum.
The name Bedmond is believed to derive from the Old English Beadmund, meaning "Beadmund's clearing" or "Beadmund's wood". The Domesday Book of 1086 records the settlement as "Bedemunde".
The population of the civil parish in 2011 was 1,071. Local amenities include a village hall, a primary school, and a public house.
