Rookies (American TV series)
Rookies was an American police procedural television series that aired on ABC from 1972 to 1976. Created by William Blinn and produced by Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg, the show followed the lives of three young, recently graduated police officers as they navigated the challenges and dangers of their first assignments.
The series starred Georg Stanford Brown as Officer Terry Webster, Sam Melville as Officer Mike Danko, and Michael Ontkean as Officer Willie Gillis. Kate Jackson played Jill Danko, Mike Danko's wife, who also worked as a registered nurse.
Rookies was notable for its focus on the personal lives and struggles of the young officers, in addition to the crime-solving aspects of the show. It addressed social issues relevant to the time, such as drug abuse, poverty, and racial tensions.
