Mong Hsu

Mong Hsu is a town and capital of Mong Hsu Township in the Shan State of Myanmar. It is located in the eastern part of the state, within the Wa Self-Administered Division, although not technically part of it geographically.

Mong Hsu is known as a significant area for ruby mining and, historically, for opium production. In recent decades, efforts have been made to diversify the economy beyond these traditional industries.

The region is characterized by a mountainous terrain and is inhabited by various ethnic groups, including the Shan and Wa people.
