Redzel

Redzel (foaled 2012) is an Australian thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning The Everest, a prestigious and lucrative race held at Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney, in both 2017 and 2018. Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, Redzel was notable for his early speed and ability to maintain it throughout the race. He was ridden by Kerrin McEvoy in both of his Everest victories. Redzel was a gelding, which means he was not able to be used for breeding. Before his retirement in 2020, he amassed a significant career record including multiple Group 1 wins and a substantial amount of prize money. He is considered one of the most successful sprinters in Australian racing history.
