Odd Thomas (film)

Odd Thomas is a 2013 American mystery thriller film based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Dean Koontz. The film is directed by Stephen Sommers and stars Anton Yelchin as Odd Thomas, a young man with psychic abilities who can see the dead.

The film follows Odd as he uses his abilities to solve crimes in his small town, Pico Mundo. He is aided by his girlfriend, Stormy Llewellyn (Addison Timlin), and the local police chief, Wyatt Porter (Willem Dafoe). One day, Odd sees a large number of "bodachs," creatures that feed on impending violence, gathering in the town. He quickly realizes that something terrible is about to happen and races to prevent a major catastrophe.

The plot centers around Odd's investigation into a mysterious man with a large number of bodachs surrounding him, whom Odd suspects is planning a mass shooting. He follows clues, encountering various suspects and dead people who offer cryptic warnings. The film features elements of suspense, action, and supernatural themes.

Due to financial issues with the production company, the film experienced delays in its release. It eventually premiered in several international territories in 2013 and was released in the United States via video on demand in 2014.
