Kush (Australian band)
Kush were an Australian country music band active primarily in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Formed in Sydney, the band was notable for featuring a strong lineup of experienced musicians, including bassist Bob Daisley (later of Rainbow, Ozzy Osbourne, and Uriah Heep fame), drummer Mark Kennedy (Spectrum, Ayers Rock), and guitarist Les Hall (Sebastian Hardie). Their music blended elements of country, rock, and pop.
The band released two albums: Kush (1979) and Snow White and the Seven Straights (1981). While they garnered critical acclaim for their musicianship and songwriting, they did not achieve major commercial success. Kush is remembered as a significant, albeit short-lived, act in the Australian country rock scene of the era. After Kush disbanded, its members went on to pursue various individual musical projects.
