James Little (unionist)

James Little (died 1961) was a prominent Northern Irish unionist politician and solicitor.

Little practiced law in Northern Ireland for many years. His political career focused on representing the constituency of West Down in the Parliament of Northern Ireland. He was consistently elected as a Unionist Member of Parliament (MP) for West Down, holding the seat from 1929 until his death in 1961.

During his lengthy tenure, Little was known for his staunch advocacy of Ulster Unionism and his dedication to maintaining the union between Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom. He frequently spoke on issues relating to agriculture and rural affairs, reflecting the concerns of his largely rural constituency. He was a strong supporter of the Ulster Farmers' Union.

While a long-serving and respected figure within the Ulster Unionist Party, Little rarely held major government positions. His influence lay primarily in his steadfast representation of his constituents and his unwavering commitment to unionist principles. His death in 1961 marked the end of a significant era of unionist representation in West Down.
