Ted Reeve
Ted Reeve (1902-1983) was a Canadian athlete, coach, sportswriter, and broadcaster. He is most well-known for his contributions to Canadian football and lacrosse. Reeve played both sports professionally and semi-professionally.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Reeve played football for the Toronto Argonauts, winning a Grey Cup in 1921. He also played lacrosse for various teams, including the Toronto Tecumsehs. After his playing career, he became a successful coach, particularly in lacrosse.
Reeve was a prominent sportswriter for the Toronto Telegram for many years, where he wrote a popular column known for its humour and distinctive voice. He also worked as a radio and television broadcaster, providing commentary and analysis on various sports. Reeve was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1966 and the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame as a builder. He is considered a significant figure in the history of Canadian sports.
